How Our Education System Squashes Creativity

I have been frustrated with our education system for a long time but never knew really why. In this lecture Ken Robinson (a British author and educator) explains why he thinks our rigid and stagnant education systems stifle the developing minds of children. He says that intelligence is diverse and should not be measured in just one way or based on a hierarchy of academic subjects (with Mathematics at the top and Arts at the bottom).

How do you measure intelligence?

Is creativity valued in our education system and in our society?

What is the difference between intelligence and creativity?

I saw this talk a short while ago and have since made a point to convey this idea to young people. The idea that creativity is intelligence, and harnessing creativity is knowledge.
I know I'm bombarding your blog now with comments but you've inspired me to start writing and possibly start my own blog..at 5am, yes.
