I have been frustrated with our education system for a long time but never knew really why. In this lecture Ken Robinson (a British author and educator) explains why he thinks our rigid and stagnant education systems stifle the developing minds of children. He says that intelligence is diverse and should not be measured in just one way or based on a hierarchy of academic subjects (with Mathematics at the top and Arts at the bottom).
How do you measure intelligence?
Is creativity valued in our education system and in our society?
